Picture an adult version of an Arnold Palmer, iced tea and lemonade, and you are on the right track. I used Stash Double Bergamot Earl Grey and made it the sun tea way but brewed it great too, 1) because I love Earl Grey tea, but I adore Double Bergamot Earl Grey; it is an elegant tea 2) because I love the smell of Bergamot. If you are not familiar with Bergamot, here’s some fun little tidbits.
Bergamot Orange is a fragrant fruit about the size of an orange with a sour flavor. They are not grown for their fruit juices but for the essence extracted from their aromatic skin. 80% of all Bergamot is grown in the Ionian Sea coastal areas of southern Italy, specifically Calabria. You may be acquainted with the flavors of Bergamot if you drink Earl Grey and Lady Grey Tea.
Bergamot peel is used in perfumery for its ability to combine with an array of scents to form a bouquet of aromas which complement each other. Approximately one third of all men’s and about half of women’s perfumes contain bergamot essential oil.
Now you know, let’s take the plunge!
