Bloody Snake Venom – Friday’s 5 o’clock Wet Your Whistle Call!

blood rim glass

Isn’t Halloween the most fun! Nothing allows you the opportunity to be outrageous like this holiday! Try serving your friends a drink with blood running down the glass any other time of the year and they may have you committed. Now you can keep up with the “spooky Joneses” like the Munster’s or Adams Family who were once the only ones with these kinds of recipes. Creep-a-luscious sipping!

Bloody Snake Venom

Ingredients:

1/4 Cup Karo corn syrup (light)
12 drops of red food coloring
1 can of frozen limeade concentrate
3 cups of Tequila
3 cups of chilled orange juice
1/2 cup Triple Sec
3 cups of chilled ginger ale

Combine corn syrup and red food coloring in a small bowl to mix. Pour into a small plate large enough to dip the rims of our goblets into.

Dip the rim of each goblet into the red corn syrup (blood) enough to coat them. Turn the goblet upright on a paper towel, to catch any drips, and let the red mixture drip down the sides of the goblet. Place your bloody goblets immediately in the freezer to prevent the blood from heading toward the very bottom of your glass. You want the blood to stay on the top half of your goblets so that your hands aren’t a bloody mess!

After your bloody goblets have been in the freezer for about 20 minutes,  remove them and let them set in your refrigerator until you’re ready to use them.

In a pitcher, combine limeade, orange juice, Triple Sec and tequila and stir until limeade dissolves. Add ginger ale.

Pour over ice into each bloody goblet. Makes about 10 drinks depending on size of the goblets used.
