I love it when the week ends on a very positive note!  Sometimes the planets come into alignment and everything goes just as you pictured it would. Those are the Friday’s that call for a little more special, celebratory cocktail.

 

Champagne or sparkling wines are the first thing I think of when I want to kick up the fun and put on my party hat! 

 

 

• 3 strawberries
• 2 lemon slices
• 3 leaves of basil
• ½ oz simple syrup
• 2 oz Ketel OneVodka
• ½ oz fresh lemon juice
• Champagne or sparkling wine or Proseco
• Strawberry with stem for garnish

Muddle strawberries, lemon and basil in bottom of martini shaker.

 

Add vodka, simple syrup, lemon juice and ice and shake until icy. Strain mixture into the bottom of a champagne flute and top slowly with Champagne or sparkling wine.

 

You will need to gently stir the mixture together so that you don’t burst your bubble, so to speak. Remember its the bubbles that make Champagne so festive!

 

Garnish glass with a fresh strawberry.

 

I always say the more, the merrier so make a larger batch of the strawberry basil mixture and invite your friends to share in the end of your perfect week celebration and the beginning of a great weekend! Ciao Bella!
