Bayou Slime – Friday’s 5 o’clock Wet Your Whistle Call!

Bayou Slime

What makes Halloween so much fun is the creativity you get to unleash during every aspect of inventing the party. Turning your house into a spooky place where each little space holds something clever and creepy for your guests to enjoy. The same idea holds true for the cocktails. They are a part of the atmosphere you are creating. The transformation of an everyday house into an eerie space is like the transformation of the ordinary cocktail into a creepy libation.

The swamps of the bayou can be some of the scariest places. Remember the monster that rises from the swamp all covered with slime and Spanish moss. Your guests will wonder what could possibly be lurking underneath that top layer of slime. Bayou Slime is a transformation of an everyday Mojito into a creepy cocktail. Watch out when you put your lips to the glass that you are not transformed!

Bayou Slime

Ingredients:

2 parts Cruzan Dark Rum
6-8 fresh mint leaves
1/2 part Fee Brothers Spiced Cordial Syrup
1 egg white

Preparation:

Muddle mint leaves and syrup together, making sure to crush the mint leaves.
Place all ingredients into a shaker.
Shake until well-chilled and frothy.
Strain into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with additional crushed mint leaves.

The “slime” is created by the egg white, which floats as a layer of foam on top of the drink and the “moss” by sprinkling mint on top.
