Basil North Martini
The Santa Ana Winds have hit Southern California and it is HOT!! Yes it is autumn but this week I think we need a chilly, refreshing cocktail to end our very hot week. Every aspiring mixologist should have several vodka drinks in their creative arsenal because vodka is always a crowd pleaser.
The Basil North is an excellent, fresh, herbal cocktail that has a taste of a basil-infused hybrid between an Apple Martini and a Lemon Drop.
1 part apple juice
2 parts Cape North Vodka or any high quality vodka
2 basil leaves
1 freshly squeezed lemon (cut in half)
1 dash of sugar
Preparation:
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake well.
Fine strain into a chilled martini glass so that you don’t have any basil floating in the glass, just the great flavor.
