Sir Admiral Henry Morgan was one of the most notorious and successful privateers from Wales, as well as one of the most dangerous pirates to terrorize the Spanish Main. He had the audacity to steal from the English, while sporting their cause at the same time!
He was also one of the few pirates able to retire from piracy, with most of his wealth intact and little legal retribution, to ultimately become the Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica. Now several centuries later, he has become the figurehead for the company he helped to make famous….The Captain Morgan Rum Company.
We were so captured by the unique spiced vanilla flavors, taking us back to our Caribbean vacations, that my husband David created a twist on the more common Cuba Libra with the help of the Captain, I affectionately named the drink after him.
In celebration of his birthday today, we are having several of these! Yo, ho, ho ho and a bottle of rum!
2 oz Captain Morgan Original Spice Rum Splash of Malibu Coconut Rum 6 oz of Pepsi 1 Key lime Preparation:
2 oz Captain Morgan Private Stock Preparation: Just pour it in the glass matey!
Captain Morgan Private Stock has such a rich smooth taste that it is best enjoyed on the rocks with a twist of lime or better yet, straight up in a snifter.
Make a toast to the pirate in you!
Arrrgh!
